We hosted our first workshop and invited our clients to join for an immersive introduction to the art of natural dyeing. We explored the beauty of color drawn from nature itself through Eco Printing.
Over the past 25 years, Joseph Carini has revived ancient natural dyeing recipes that live on through his masterful carpet creations. Using rare and precious pigments, these natural dyes produce rich, luminous colors that make the carpets glow.
One of the natural dyes we use is Indigo, which is made from a plant that goes through a specific processing, which will make a rich blue that glows. Another example of a dye we use is saffron from the stimens from the flowers, which can make a brilliant yellow. In China, it would have been called imperial yellow. It is another color fast dye that is intense and beautiful. We also make reds from matter plant and matter root.
Some of the most exquisite colors come from very precious materials. Some of the colors that we make, the dye is incredibly expensive in comparison to a synthetic dye. It is like crushing up semi precious stones for paint that would have extra depth and color. The best colors always come from rare things that are expensive and hard to aquire.
