At Carini Lang, we specialize in the art of hand-dyeing carpets with the finest quality indigo. Our process begins with the creation of indigo dye, which is carefully extracted in multiple layers. The most coveted layer, a delicate top portion, is akin to the crème de la crème of indigo. This exclusive extract, known as "cakes," is not commercially available and forms the core of our indigo dying process.
The cakes we use are rich and nearly black in hue, representing only 10% of each dye batch but offering unparalleled quality. These pure indigo cakes elevate the color, enhancing both its depth and vibrancy. Not only does the indigo appear more luminous with a captivating sparkle, but it also boasts exceptional colorfastness, ensuring the dye lasts longer and maintains its beauty over time. Though more expensive, this premium indigo significantly outshines ordinary dyes, providing a deeper, more radiant blue with a subtle gleam that is reminiscent of gazing at a fine gemstone.
