Vintage Moroccan Rug - Camus
IN STOCK, AVAILABLE NOW
This antique vintage Moroccan rug came from the Beni Mguild tribe from the central middle Atlas mountains. This rug features beautiful dye, exhibiting great color and movement. It was an authentic Berber piece, originally commissioned in the 1960s and not intended for commercial sale. It is rare to see a blue Moroccan shag and one with green checks is even more collectible. It also features a beautiful red and orange pinstripe border. It is made of handspun wool from sheep in the high mountains. This rug has a thick shag of lustrous soft wool with dense pile and solid structure. The glossy wool and saturated colors give this rug a captivating effect. In excellent condition for its age. A one of a kind, unique handmade carpet. Some see waterlilies floating on the water in the delicate and playful pattern of the green checks over the blue background.
