This rare authentic antique Moroccan rug came from the Beni Mguild tribe from the central middle Atlas mountains from the region of the Guigou valley. This rug features beautiful hues of aubergine background with stunning diamond motifs with blots of blue, pink, orange, and white forming a border around the diamonds shifting the composition throughout the rug. This rug has a thick shag of lustrous soft wool with dense pile and solid structure. The glossy wool and saturated colors give this rug a captivating effect. In excellent condition for its age. A one of a kind, unique handmade carpet. It was an authentic Berber piece, originally commissioned in the mid 20th century, likely around the 1950-1960s. It is a very special piece, not made for commercial production.
