A rare collectible Moroccan vintage shag rug. This antique handwoven rug came from the Beni Mguild tribe from the central middle Atlas mountains. It was an authentic Berber piece with fringe on one end, made around the 1920s-30s. A special and completely one of a kind rug. Featuring an incredible unusual design with 3 layers to the pattern, which is unusual for this type of design. Beautiful warm purple tones throughout. Featuring yellow, orange and brown geometric patterns and lots of irregularity. The color variation and movement make this such a charming and unique piece. This rug has a thick shag of lustrous soft wool with dense pile and solid structure. The glossy wool and saturated colors give this rug a captivating effect. In excellent condition for its age.
