This antique vintage Moroccan rug came from the Beni Mguild or Ait Youssi tribe from the central middle Atlas mountains. It was made in the 1940s in the Guigou valley north of the Tichoukt mountain range where the Beni Mguild live. Its intended use was for special occasions and seen as an object of prestige. This rug features beautiful dye, exhibiting rich color glowing colors. It was an authentic Berber piece that is a beautiful example of an antique rug that is still of contemporary style. With varying designs and a fabulous border, this rug has a playful, yet sophisticated look.
